Tiny Home for Family Living on Wheels

Share

Introduction to the Elouera Tiny House

The Elouera tiny house is a perfect example of a home that is well-suited for life on wheels, ideal for a small family. With its length of 9 m (almost 30 ft) and large covered porch area, it encourages indoor/outdoor living. The interior layout is airy and light-filled, and the home runs off-the-grid with solar power.

Design and Construction

The Elouera was designed by Australia’s Tiny Solar Homes and is based on a triple-axle trailer with an aluminum frame. The home is finished in aluminum as well, making it hard-wearing. The use of aluminum in both the frame and finish ensures that the home can withstand the rigors of life on the road.

Layout and Features

The home is accessed through its optional outdoor porch, which expands the living space considerably. Sliding glass doors help open the home up to the outside, creating a seamless transition between indoors and outdoors. The living room is light-filled thanks to the generous glazing and high ceiling, and it contains a sofa bed that sleeps two, plus speakers built into the wall as part of a surround sound system. A TV is also installed in the living room.

Kitchen and Dining

The kitchen is nearby and is quite well-proportioned. It features stone countertops, a breakfast bar for two, an oven, and a four-burner propane-powered stove. There is also a fridge/freezer, a small dishwasher, and an integrated air-conditioning unit installed in the kitchen.

Bathroom and Bedrooms

The Elouera’s bathroom features a vanity sink, shower, and a flushing toilet that can be upgraded to a composting toilet or incinerating toilet, if preferred. The bathroom doubles as a washroom and has a washer/dryer, as well as louver-style windows to improve ventilation. There are two bedrooms in the Elouera, both of which are loft-style spaces with low ceilings. They are reached by a storage-integrated staircase that connects to a hallway, with the bedrooms positioned on opposite sides of the tiny house.

Off-Grid Capabilities

The Elouera gets its power from a roof-mounted solar panel array, which is hooked up to an inverter and batteries to ensure the lights stay on even when it’s dark or bad weather. The home can be upgraded with more batteries, and other options include an additional bedroom and a choice of different materials.

Conclusion

The Elouera tiny house is a great example of a home that is perfect for life on the road. With its airy and light-filled interior, off-grid capabilities, and optional upgrades, it is an ideal choice for a small family or individual looking to live a more sustainable lifestyle. While the price of the Elouera is not available, it is clear that it is a well-designed and functional home that is worth considering for those looking to downsize or live off the grid.
